Description

The Glucose Challenge Test (GCT), often performed during pregnancy to screen for gestational diabetes, measures the body’s response to sugar. In this test, the patient drinks a glucose solution, and blood is drawn at specific intervals—typically after one hour (1+1 sample). If blood glucose levels are above the recommended threshold, it may indicate an increased risk for gestational diabetes, and further testing may be required for a definitive diagnosis.
