Description
Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) is a blood test that measures how quickly red blood cells (erythrocytes) settle at the bottom of a test tube over a specified period. A higher-than-normal ESR can indicate inflammation, infection, or other medical conditions such as autoimmune diseases. It is often used as a nonspecific marker to help diagnose or monitor diseases associated with inflammation.
